Dave CorbettHostDebbie Elmer, thank you so much for joining us on Deep Roots Radio because I am so excited about an upcoming event, one that talks, it speaks about summer and about having fun on the farm.

And what we have coming up is a celebration of our communities, of all things rural.

As we look at our region and there's 12 small farms opening their doors to us for a behind the scenes celebration.

preview of their operations it's not an opportunity that comes along very often and it's called the apple river farm tour and it's going to be on saturday july 11th from 10 a.m to 4 p.m and farms in clear lake clayton amory star prairie and down to river falls are inviting you to come along and see what's happening at their farms.

There's so many unique things in our area that we, that I, even as a new director of this farm tour, wasn't aware that's happening in our community.
Is there anything common amongst those farms? I mean, do they share any kind of traits?

And it's something that we should celebrate as we move ahead and look at our future as a region and our story.

And these 12 farms all share this idea of farming as part of our future, but also to make that happen, farming needs to be sustainable.

So you need to work with the land, take care of the land, take care of the animals ethically, and really work to build up a whole ecosystem that supports all these different types of farming.
