It's kind of funny 'cause we can just...

Like, we're actually sitting a couple miles apart.

I know.

We're usually an ocean apart when we do these shows.

So, um, I am, uh, really honored to be back on here, uh, back...

And I'm honored to be on your island, which we'll talk about why I'm, I'm doing, what I'm doing here now.

But, um, from the National Drowning Prevention Alliance, you know, historically over the last few years, the NDPA has, has put a lot of focus on, um, younger children, ages one to four, because, you know, they...

Drowning's the single leading cost, cause of death for ages one to four.

So certainly that age group is at risk.

However, we do know that, um, people of all ages are drowning in all kinds of water.

And so we are opening our focus a bit, um, to encompass really all ages and all water, which I am really excited about as a, as a lover of the open water, and I spend a lot of time, um...

When I lived in a warmer place than I currently live now, I would do a lot of swimming in open water.

Yeah.

I'd do more paddling on open water.

But, you know, there, we're losing people of all ages in all kinds of water, so we are opening up our focus a bit and developing some strategic partnerships to support that so that we're not just talking about...

We are certainly still talking about, um, children drowning in pools and more closed water, but we're really opening it up to, to try to talk about, you know, drowning is preventable of people of all ages in all water.

That's great.

And so that's why you're here on Kauai.
