D3P108: Way Too Early Preseason Top 10 for 2027

So what are we doing today? Today we have a pretty special episode on tap because we can only do this type of episode one time per year.

Wyatt and I have been researching and prepping for this episode, not just for the last month now, but really thinking about it since I would say the 2026 season ended, right?

Yeah.

Now, in terms of recording, we decided to wait until every D3 baseball player was back at school and every D3 baseball program was up and running again.

And it's safe to say that now that we've passed Labor Day 2026, at least by the time this is released, all the D3 baseball bands are finally back together, right? I can't imagine there's a school that wouldn't have returned previously.

There might be a few going back after Labor Day.

I know some of the big schools, like the U of M, hasn't gone back yet.

Got it.

But I think, if I had to guess, 85% of schools are back.

The Twitter timelines, the Instagram timelines are full of guys working out, right? Yeah.

All right.

So the name of today's episode is the second annual, way too early, preseason top 10, 2027 edition.

Second annual because we did this last year, right?

Yeah.

And it

was huge.

Now, we named it this for two reasons.

One, we're going to publish our D3 Baseball preseason top 10 for 2027 today, which is five months before the season starts.

And two, it's obviously way too early to do this, but we're going to do it anyway because we miss D3 Baseball and clearly lots of other people do as well.

because the episodes we put out over the summer, absolutely crushed.

And before we move on, let's do a quick recap of those summer episodes.

So when fans of the show are done listening to this, they can go back through the D3P library and catch up on all of season three, if they wish to do so.
