Clear eyes. Full hearts. Critical Error. Jake Steinberg, Cristian Macias, and Peter Hunt Szpytek kick off Critical Error's Friday Night Lights watch with the pilot episode, which premiered in October…
I think it I've never I've never seen something so immediately like electric, like immediately starts and you're like, oh, I'm oh, I'm in.
What about it was the thing that you would say is immediately electric? Because I know for me, the first thing that sticks out is like the insane camera style, the filming style, where it's it's like shaky hands.
I was overwhelmed with the idea that I was watching like somebody's VHS from growing up the whole time.
The really harsh closeups, like the intimacy in this, like this, this had all sorts of effects on me throughout the entire episode.
And I think it's like vibe and setting, right? I mean, like like I was really, really shocked by how good the soundtrack is.
I mean, the needle drops are all like ludicrously excellent, but like that, like really kind of like somber and like it's like it's the
guitar yeah yes it feels like it
feels like the player is like holding back tears and it's like this is a show about football like why are we doing this but it's it's like you're getting all of these like the shots of the town and and you know like coach taylor getting set up and it's like all of the radio chatter and stuff like right at the beginning and it's just like immediate like boom this is the vibe and the vibe is actually incredible you know
It's this, it's the, with the Dylan football radio station that eventually becomes diegetic the second time we hear it.
And, and that like diner or whatever it is that like lunch counter and, but like it's all energy.
It's not just the audio, but it's like the, the, the energy that comes with it.
And I think specifically, uh, aiming up towards the sky in the middle of these shots and also like driving by through the community, we are getting like a window into the soul of the town before
