Yeah, so we were both working for the same writer-director, this guy Dan Petrie Jr. He's best known as the writer of Beverly Hills Cop, and he's directed a bunch of movies and wrote Turner and Hooch, and so we were both working for him.

I was his director of development, and John was his assistant, and He was a lovely guy, very supportive, very pro-writer.

And we were both, John and I were both writing scripts on the side and he would encourage us.

And so we met there and we decided to write, you know, we were writing scripts on the side and having very little success.

And then John and I decided to write a script together and that sold and we were off to the races.

Studios, every Friday, the spec scripts went out and they were printed out in a nice manila little package.

And you were so hoping by Sunday you'd heard any sort of good news or whatever Monday for the weekend read.
