Bad Moms

Oh, wait, no, I looked it up the other night.

It's from the creators of Bad Mums, is it?

Probably, yes.

Yeah, and

Yeah, yeah.

She's in Bridesmaids and Barbie and Bad Moms and, like, all those, and she is so funny.

And then it's got Damon Wayans Jr. in it, and he plays just, like, an idiot, and it's really funny.

My wife and I watched the drama, which... pretty good uh yeah i thought i thought it was good i think i like both of those actors so much that um it could have been anything and i would have enjoyed it to an extent um but man is that a horror movie that's just a horror movie that nobody's talking about my god um getting headbutted at your wedding I still haven't seen it.

And they also wrote the story to Office Christmas Party, which is one of those films that I didn't expect to go in liking, but I actually did.

In terms of their writing and directing, they've also written the two Bad Moms films, Bad Moms and A Bad Mom's Christmas, neither of which I particularly liked, although I did like A Bad Mom's Christmas... slightly more than I liked the original Bad Moms.

I think that the problem with Bad Moms was that it tried to be more subversive than it did try to be funny and relatable.

Here, there are hints of John Lucas and Scott Moore going for the cheaper laughs than it have stayed in contact over the last couple of years.

But of course, growing up and dealing with their responsibilities have led to seams in their relationship.

And I think that's a good start for a story, not to mention that John Lucas and Scott Moore had actually consulted with women about when they were writing their screenplay, particularly one of the female producers of this film, as well as their own wives.

And initially going into this film, when I learned that there were two writers and directors for this film who were male writing for a female-centric comedy, Particularly after the overrated Bad Moms, I had my reservations, but I still went into it with an open mind like I try to do with every film.

And the four friends who occupy this film include Jane, who is a lawyer who's played by Leslie Mann.

She's a screenwriter, actress, and comedian.

You've seen her in This Is 40, Bad Moms, Barbie, Confess Fletch, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for co-writing the film Bridesmaids with Kristen Wiig.

Annie and Kristen also co-wrote, co-produced, and starred in the very funny film Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.

It still is one of my favorite adult comedies.

I also hadn't seen the movies that were made by the the two directors the the writing directing team of John Lucas and Scott Moore who wrote and directed this film Bad Moms and Bad Moms Christmas although I know that they were hugely successful and I am a fan of Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, and Anna Faris.

I enjoy them as comedic actresses, so I was kind of interested in it and seeing where this film took me.

Unfortunately, I didn't find it really funny at all.

If you remember the film Ladies' Night with... scarlett johansson and a whole bunch of about these women who go on like you know bachelor party and then there's a dead stripper involved and everything like that if you remember the film girl's trip with latifah with queen latifah and like um and what's the name that's right it was jada pinkett smith and regina and tiffany haddish and all that kind of stuff if you remember babas if you remember bad moms I saw the post and I was like, this is one of those films.

This is one of those films where you have four women who go off somewhere for, as the title this time, it's a spa weekend and stuff happens.

Each one of them plays a stereotype or an archetype if you want.

This reminds me of Ladies Night.

This reminds me of Bob and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.

This reminds me of Bad Moms.

And then I came out of the film, looked it up, and I realized that the poster actually said, which I didn't notice before, from the director of Bad Moms and the writers of The Hangover.

They first moved together into the director chair with 2013's 21 and Over, which I have not seen.

But they also wrote and directed Bad Moms, both the Bad Moms original film in 2016, as well as the sequel in 2017.

They've done a number of other things in film and television overall.

But I think the takeaway from their pedigree is that this kind of friend comedy, buddy road trip, you know, style of movie.

But out of all of those movies, which have you seen? Which have you not seen?

I've seen a handful of them.

Unfortunately, I've seen both of the Bad Moms, the original and the spinoff, which I guess you can see as a sequel, the Christmas version.

And of course, I've seen 27 Dresses.
