A Giant Pain in the Neck

I did a gig, a very rare one, it was on a Tuesday for somebody called Jokers Entertainment.

It was up in Skegness.

So I literally went to work, got home, had a shower, had a quick bite, left my house about 7:00 PM, drove to Skegness.

I got there at 10:00, just before 10 o'clock.

Got on stage for about 11:00, off stage at half past 11, and I got home about half past 2:00 in the morning.

I did cancel my shift for the next day because I thought, "I'm gonna be too tired." Honestly, I was tired driving there.

Of- then I thought, "God, I'm getting old now, ain't I?" [laughs] I suppose I've been, I've been up since, what? 7:00 in the morning going to work, and then, yeah, I was tired, man.

I'm usually, I'm not too bad.

Do you know what I mean? I even had a energy drink, and I took that with me, and I was still, like...

It di- it didn't do anything.

Didn't even touch the sides.

But saying that, the gig was a lot of fun.

It was the first ever event.

Now, it was at Parkdean Resorts in Skegness, so it's a holiday, like a holiday park but in the UK.

I've never been to one.

When I got there, I was like, "Wow, this is nice, innit?" [laughs] They had palm trees, and they had a waterfall, and it was lovely.

Thought, "This is, this is well nice.

I've never seen anything like this in the UK." [laughs] I even said to the audience, I said, "I'm really surprised." And the funniest thing is, uh, it was a lot of fun.

Like, there weren't many in there.

It was the very first comedy night they'd put on at this resort.

They only charged a fiver, which is not a lot of money.

So there was three acts.

There was, uh, Louis Green.

There was Tal Davies, who's also from Birmingham.

She opened.
