Darryl BurrowGuestMike BascomHostWhat habits or preparations separate the families who recover well from those who struggle long-term?

I believe that a support group certainly helps people recover, whether it's a bankruptcy or an injury from an accident, a tragic accident.

The tighter the family, the closer-knit the family is, I think the better that the person recovers and handles the situation.

If you have a large family and they're always together and they always check on each other and they value each other's time and they spend that time together, you see those people do better.

For folks that may not have that extended family, I think it's so important to be a part of a group.

And a church group, think about it when other ladies or other families in that tight-knit church community hear about a bad situation.

What do they want to do? How can we help? How can we prepare a meal for this family? That's one of the best ways to help Someone that's going through a bad situation, preparing a meal for them, going over and just simply visiting, just spending time listening to that person.

How strong is their faith and what is that faith in? I think that helps people recover as well.

And I know you've seen this from an estate side and planning for people's demise or people planning for their own demise.

The people that believe, I know that this life is a vapor and I know where my soul is going and I know there's an eternity here.

I think those people face that reality in a much better position with more hope than someone who says, well, this life is all there is, and I don't believe that there's anything else.

So I think faith and what you believe about your body and your soul and your life, I think that makes a big impact on how people face challenges, whether it be a bankruptcy or whether it be an injury or losing a loved one from a tragic accident.
The longer term of a perspective someone can have, the more likely they are to be able to handle the rough patches that come in the short term.
