What habits or preparations separate the families who recover well from those who struggle long-term?

I believe that a support group certainly helps people recover, whether it's a bankruptcy or an injury from an accident, a tragic accident.

The tighter the family, the closer-knit the family is, I think the better that the person recovers and handles the situation.

And not just maybe close-knit family, but it could be extended family.

If you have a large family and they're always together and they always check on each other and they value each other's time and they spend that time together, you see those people do better.

For folks that may not have that extended family, I think it's so important to be a part of a group.

In your opinion, what's preventing individuals and families from protecting themselves as fully as they could before a financial or legal crisis occurs? And what do you wish more people understood better before they walk into your office?
