Welcome back to the Crafternoon Podcast hosted by Daisy @MyGreenCow and Meg @megjournals 📖✨ Today we're spilling the stationery tea and answering some of your most asked questions! From exposing…
This is true chaos for the start of the year, isn't it? Someone said, I get stumped on occasion and won't have any ideas of what to do on a current page.
How do you get inspired? So what inspires you, Daisy?
Honestly, I flick through my journal.
So older pages often inspire me, which obviously wouldn't work if you have a brand new journal and you're new to journaling.
But I think there's a lot that kind of can still be taken from the pages that you've already done.
Whether that's colors, whether that's like you're creating your own little Pinterest, I feel like within the journal.
So that's probably where I would start.
Does that sound really like vain? I don't know.
Like I would get inspiration from myself, but it's...
I think that's valid, yeah.
Yeah, and I think a lot of the time when I do that, when I look back at my older pages, there will be things that I've tried and not maybe... executed quite as well or as as I imagined and then it kind of makes me go oh actually I've got this thing now that I found in the bin that could work better for that let me try it with this and kind of go from there but yeah otherwise I think it's I will just go through my junk or my supplies.
Depends what I'm journaling about.
If I'm just creating a page, then I'll just go through my stash often and go, oh, I like this.
This colour might go with this and just go from there or like flip through my journal.
If I'm obviously creating a journal page to document photos, the photos are the first bit that I have.
So then I might go through my stash and go, I don't know if it's a photo of an autumn day, I'll go, what autumny coloured things do I have in my stash and pull those out.
I'm definitely someone that goes with colours first as like the inspiration point.
Do you do it any differently? Is there a different way that you'd go about it? I
think like I like to obviously look outside of journaling stuff.
Sometimes I feel like if I'm not feeling inspired, I need to just not force myself to do something and just like look at anything else.
Nature, books.
even like TV shows, music, just anything outside of it because that's what you'll bring into your journaling or your artwork or anything that you're doing.
But also sometimes the opposite and I feel like I just have to do something and just get started.
And that whole like once you're in motion...
