Allegra, firstly, may I express our condolences to you and everyone who's known and worked with Dr Haynes.

Let's go back to what your first impressions of her were when you entered Parliament in 2022.
Thank you for the question and first I want to say also look my condolences to the country community in the country, Victoria community and Wangaratta in particular because you know no one deserves this sort of behaviour.
No one wants this on our streets or in our community so it is shocking and devastating to all of us.
What I noticed from the start is when I first went into parliament, she was really generous just with her time, as a new MP, helping me understand how did she structure her office, how did she work out how to respond to all her constituents, how does she make her way as an effective member of parliament.
And as you join, it's really helpful to have people who are willing to answer your questions, some silly, some not.
And also, we all do things a little bit differently, but you want to be able to learn from each other.
And from that point of view, Helen was really generous with her time and her expertise.

And I think it can't be underestimated how much the regard for her is across the political spectrum.
Like I have to say, you would be hard-pressed to find a politician in the parliament who is more respected across the political spectrum.
I think about her in briefings from ministers when we're examining legislation before it comes to the parliament.
Helen's questions are thoughtful, they are pointed, they're very clear, but they are always respectful and well-informed.
And then when she comes to the parliament in the speeches that she makes, she is passionate.
