The Living Legend as a Two-Part Story2:33 – 3:51

Tom MerrittHost

2:33

I enjoyed this episode.

Tom MerrittHost

2:35

I don't know if I

Brian BrushwoodHost

2:37

would agree that it is the best episode of all of Battlestar Galactica.

Tom MerrittHost

2:40

We exempt first and last episodes from ultimate.

Tom MerrittHost

2:44

Right.

Tom MerrittHost

2:45

And the first episode was a treasure because it shot as a movie.

Tom MerrittHost

2:50

This one clearly back on a TV budget.

Tom MerrittHost

2:53

Right.

Brian BrushwoodHost

2:53

Yeah, and when we went into it, you texted me saying, hey, this is part one of a two-parter.

Brian BrushwoodHost

2:59

I'm like, well, I might just go straight through if this is the highest rated episode.

Brian BrushwoodHost

3:03

And about halfway through, I was like, I don't think I'm going to go straight through.

Tom MerrittHost

3:07

And by the book, even though it's a part one, it aired on its own.

Tom MerrittHost

3:11

Part two aired the following week.

Tom MerrittHost

3:13

To the point, I don't know if you noticed, in the opening, it just says The Living Legend.

Tom MerrittHost

3:17

It doesn't say The Living Legend Part One.

Tom MerrittHost

3:20

It's a surprise that they had a cliffhanger ending.

Tom MerrittHost

3:23

And then the next one is called The Living Legend Part 2.

Tom MerrittHost

3:26

But this one's just called The Living Legend.

Tom MerrittHost

3:29

They mirrored this storyline in the reboot of Battlestar Galactica.

Tom MerrittHost

3:35

We have a Pegasus.

Tom MerrittHost

3:36

We have a rogue captain or commander of the Pegasus.

Tom MerrittHost

3:41

But most of the ways this plays out are entirely different, especially because I guess this goes for two parts, but the Pegasus doesn't stick around for most of the season.
