The New York Yankees swept "historical rival" Boston in this year's Wild Card series to move on to the ALDS. Join me for my thoughts on the team, the season, and a look at Cam Schlittler's incredible…
They didn't play the 167 game because of all of the shitty weather we had in New York as the season, um, approached its end.
But the Yankees once again against Boston in the kiddie table playoff round, the so-called wild card round, emerged victorious, unlike last year where the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the first game, pushing them to the brink.
And then the Yankees won the next two, the third one behind the probable 2026 Cy Young Award winner Cam Schlittler, who pitched game one the other night in this series and was just tremendous.
And I wanna focus on Cam Schlittler for a moment, and, you know, when I say, uh, things and I discuss things such as the Thrilla in Manila, there is an idea and a sense, uh, and it's not wrong, that when people such as myself, when historians, when Gen Xers, young boomers, older boomers, et cetera, when we talk about the good old days or we talk about kind of legendary sports figures, maybe we're overly mythologizing them, or maybe we're not.
It's up to you to decide because each individual situation, maybe it's a little bit overblown or maybe we're not even doing it justice.
Well, the reality of Cam Schlittler this season, no cap, it is the best season by a New York Yankee starting pitcher in 48 years.
