BONUS - A Conversation with Ear Hustle's Earlonne Woods

This is Rachel Check, Concrete Mama the podcast, and I wanted to introduce this bonus episode today by telling you a little origin story.

So back in 2017, my friend Rina introduced me to a new prison podcast called Ear Hustle, and I fell in love with the stories.

I especially fell in love with the hosts, Earlonne and Nigel.

And it started to give us the idea during COVID, because we were enjoying the episodes so much, it was helping us get through tough times, to start our own podcast.

So we started a Zoom-based podcast during lockdown called Unincarcerated.

And during that time, we really had the premise that we wanted to show off the thought leadership of formerly incarcerated people talking about how to survive lockdown and tough times.

And so from that, we got invited to come in and work with the guys at Walla Walla.

We started the Concrete Mama podcast with them, and the rest is history.

So here we are in season two.

The first episode of season two features part of an interview with Earlonne Woods, when we invited him to come up, and he went into the prison and connected with the guys and recorded a conversation.

Today is the rest of that interview that didn't make episode one.
