This episode shares some of the behind the scenes twist and turns currently happening in my life and is a reminder that with every big goal comes ups and downs.
And now all of my stuff is actually in storage.
You may or may not have caught me say that we ended up deciding to sell our tiny house, the one that we bought that was supposed to be a home base for us as we traveled.
And we are in the process of selling that house.
I will believe it when I see it.
We've had so many challenges in the past couple of months with this house, with the showings, with the selling of it, that I am sitting back waiting for the closing to actually happen.
And then I will say, okay, we officially sold the house.
I'm at this point where I am just along for the ride, so to speak.
with the journey of um this tiny house and what it has turned into and by that what i mean is we initially bought this house we renovated it we created a budget when we were renovating it and we said on the low end it will cost this much and then on the high end it will cost this much And on the high end, that pretty much went like that meant like things went wrong.
There were unexpected expenses.
And even though we did our best to find people who could help us for less and really try to keep the budget down, we ended up spending on the high end of the budget due to just unexpected problems with the house.
We've done renovations before, but this one turned into problem after problem after problem.
You hear that sometimes that happens.
That did happen.
It was a small house, and so you can't really build that much equity in a tiny house anyway.
And we knew that that was not a good thing for us.
And then we decided to sell it.
And we're just really at this point trying to break even, which is barely the case.
So we learned a lot in the process.
It has been a bit of a mini nightmare, but I am trying to believe that the lessons we learned are going to be more valuable than the money that we lost or the problems that we had along the way and all of the energy and effort that we put in that doesn't really seem to make sense at this point.
But we realized in the process that we didn't want to have a home base in the U.S., so it really just doesn't make sense to keep the house.
But we'll see what happens.
I am just, like I said, along for the ride.
There's like only so much about this that I can control and I did what I could to get the house ready for the showing and make it look as nice as possible and do the cleaning and the staging and all of that, organizing, decluttering.
But then you put it out there and see what happens and it really just is all about finding the right buyer and...
I will let you know how it turns out.
