Klaipėda

Born on June 14th, 1921 in Lithuania, Nick was raised by parents who were both dentists and who instilled in him a deep appreciation for education.

As a young man, he attended a German gymnasium in Klaipeda, Memel, but when Adolf Hitler came to power, Jewish students were expelled from their schools.

In January 1939, just months before the outbreak of World War II, Nick left for England to continue his education, an act that would ultimately save his life.

While Nick found refuge in England, his family endured unimaginable hardship.

We should cut this deployment, which they did.

And then they sent him off to Klaipeda to do very basic information gathering.

And so that was a huge setback professionally for him.

And it wasn't until the late 1960s that he would get his final break.

I, I, I didn't see or feel that there was an ecosystem.

Maybe because I'm not from the capital, right? I, I was, y- uh, I was born and raised on, uh, on the west coast in Klaipeda, the seaside.

But, um, uh, Vilnius now is booming.

I mean, like you should, you should come over even see, you know, Cyber City, um, Tech City, right? Everything is there.

Yeah.

They specifically named the Klaipeda LNG terminal and the Dagava hydroelectric corridor in Latvia.

How does a tactic like that actually work in practice?
