On this episode of Soul Searching with Chiquis, we’re talking all about my Alma De Luz Experience. I’ll take you through the full journey— including why I felt called to create a space where people…
And today, that's what I wanna do.
I want to talk about something that is very dear to my heart, and that is my Alma de Luz experience.
So Alma de Luz, for those of you that may not know what this is, it started off as just an idea.
I was trying to find a name for my new album, which is now named Janae.
I was between Janae or Alma de Luz, and I came up with Alma de Luz when I was praying and, and meditating on and about my album.
And I'm like, "What does my soul wanna say?" I feel like this whole thing with soul is everywhere, you know.
Alma means soul, or at least in the name Alma de Luz, it means you are a soul of light.
You are a light in this world.
And I'm like, "That's what I want to radiate with this music.
That's what I wanna share." So that's how that whole thing came about.
Then I was thinking about my shows.
You know, I'm like, "How am I gonna do shows? It's so different from Banda.
How am I even gonna find, like, musicians?" It was just everything was so new and so scary, but I knew because I knew that I needed to do this.
But I'm like, "I don't wanna just give people a concert.
I wanna give people an experience." I want to take them through certain things, certain modalities that have helped me feel better when I'm not feeling great.
Because as we all know, there's always something going on in the world.
I'm an empath.
I feel a lot of people's emotions.
I'm very compassionate, so if I see something that is going on on the other side of the world and I can't really do anything about it, it just makes me very sad and, and it affects me.
And that's just on top of everything else that I'm going through.
So finding this new path has really just helped me and, and this whole thing is just because I wanna share that.
And I didn't think it was gonna be as crazy as it got on social media, but I had an idea.
I'm like, "Ah, some people might not understand." But guys, people went crazy, and they went ham on me.
[laughs] And at first, I'm like, "I'm not gonna let it affect me," but it did kind of make me angry at a point because...
And not necessarily angry at, at anyone.
