And so should you for two reasons.
But nowadays it's become a self-gratifying idol.
Sexuality was once defined by God, but now has become an individual quest for identity.
And the body bearing God's image, it's been reduced to a transactional commodity or a means to an end in a lot of situations.
All that to say that the world has made a mockery of sex the way that God has intended it to be.
Case in point, two weeks ago, I preached the sermon describing one of the most horrific distortions of God's intention for sex that we could ever imagine.
which makes sermons like this one all the more important for us to have a healthy understanding of what it is.
Because as the church, it's time for us to embrace a more complete, a more refined, a less shame-filled and more life-giving theology of sex, sexuality, and the body.
Because we have to remember that it's not enough for the church to simply acknowledge and point at the problem.
Church, Jesus has redeemed us not only to name sexual brokenness, but also to bring his truth and his compassion and his justice and his hope into it.
