Capt. Marty's Outer Banks Fishing Report & Stories
Oct 16, 2026 · 9 min · 9 segments
Happy Friday everyone! We have some weather on the way so this weekend is probably going to be a wash BUT we have had some great fishing over the last few days.
All right, we always start out with the folks down in Hatteras, the offshore and inshore fleet down there.
And remember how I've been telling you over the last few days it's time for the wahoo bite to improve, and they've been averaging one or two per day per boat.
I still don't understand how they clocked that fish to determine that, but I do know [laughs] I've never caught anything any faster.
A beautiful fish, great eating, and, you know, a lot of people will fish their whole life and never catch a wahoo.
Well, in Hatteras yesterday, there were boats that had double figures in wahoos, as predicted, and mentioned first here on the Captain Marty's Fishing Report.
I don't know where they found them or what they got onto, but they also had some blackfin tuna and, uh, a couple other bonuses.
Uh, r- really I think I said yesterday that we were getting near the end of that, and Hatteras would be probably the last fleet to do that as the fish move south.
So tip of the hat to the guys in Hatteras on that great wahoo fishing and a good all-around day.
