Okay, so I'd like to start out by focusing on another race that's near the top of the ballot this November, the race for Attorney General.

It's actually a repeat contest between the same two candidates from 2022, incumbent Democratic Attorney General Josh Kahl and Fond du Lac District Attorney Republican Eric Toney.

First, can you give a small synopsis on what the Attorney General does in Wisconsin?

Well, it's often called the state's top cop, but really it's it's kind of running a giant law firm in a lot of ways.

So yeah, it's kind of portraying somebody who's fighting crime in a way, and that is part of the job, but it's also kind of doing environmental cases and settling consumer protection lawsuits or going after people who've wronged Wisconsinites in various ways, shapes and forms.

So it's basically said managing a massive law firm that has his fingers in a lot of different things.

Remember back in 2018 after Call won the AG's race and Governor Evers won that contest beating Scott Walker, Republicans in a lame duck session.

passed a series of laws trying to rein in the powers of both offices to give basically the legislature more say over things.

That includes giving lawmakers final say on signing off on settlements and various lawsuits.

And Call has been in court basically for the last eight years fighting that off and on.

Now, at the same time, the number of murders has not gone down as much as it has elsewhere.
