Jun 1, 2026 · 42 min · 11 segments
In today’s episode, we’re diving into one of the biggest roadblocks to fat loss and consistency - weekends. We talk about how so many people stay locked in Monday through Friday, only to completely…
... weekends in general.
Weekends in general, I can speak from personal experience as well as just experience coaching clients over the last handful of years.
There is, by and large, a big disconnect from Monday through Thursday or Monday through Friday afternoon and then those last couple of days of the week.
For some reason, we treat them as just a separate entity, its own animal, and I think it comes from a lot of places.
Like, I know I can speak for myself where past dieting attempts for me were super rigid, full of rules, looking back, completely unsustainable.
I was not having fun.
I was white-knuckling everything, and then it would come to the weekend.
I'm like, "I need a break." Like, I'm not enjoying this.
It's not...
In, in the back of my mind I knew it wasn't sustainable.
I wasn't admitting that to myself.
But I was like, "I've been so on it these last four, almost five days.
Like, what's it gonna hurt to just loosen up a little bit? It's the weekend.
It's more relaxed.
I don't really wanna be on a schedule.
I don't wanna do all the things that I've been doing so tightly all week." So I just wanted to let it go.
Sidebar, I was a Weight Watcher, and that really fed into the weekend thing, because you know what I did? I found the meeting that was first thing Saturday morning.
So I would weigh in, and then I would be done.
Like, you know what? I don't have to weigh in again for another week, another seven days from now.
So these next couple of days, I'm good.
I can make it work.
I can just enjoy myself, not worry about it, and then I'll be right back to my rigidity Monday morning, and the cycle will repeat itself, and it was really slowly and steadily wearing me down.
Like, it just was like, this isn't working, and before you knew it, I was jumping off that program because it wasn't working.
I wasn't into it.
It just was too much, and so that's a big part that I see also as a coach is that I've been good all week.
