- *Do I actually know what I'm doing?* - *Will I ever get to a place where I trust myself?* - *How does everyone else seem so sure of themselves in this season?* This episode is for the SAHM who…
First, I needed to understand why self-trust eroded me as a stay-at-home mom.
Self-trust doesn't disappear overnight.
It erodes quietly.
gradually.
A specific set of conditions that the stay-at-home mom season can create almost like a perfect storm.
Self-trust is built on a cycle of making decisions, seeking outcomes, and building confidence from the results.
The stay-at-home mom season disrupts that cycle in almost every way.
The outcome from your work is invisible and it's long-term.
The feedback is non-existent.
The comparison is constant and relentless.
The voice is telling you what you should be doing and shouldn't be doing from social media, from family, from the culture.
They are louder than ever.
When you never get clear feedback that you've got something right, you are surrounded by voices suggesting that you might be getting it wrong.
Your discerning instinct has nowhere to grow.
That is a predictable response in an environment that was not designed to support you.
So we're gonna start building that trust again by little shifts that we do.
First, I would like you to take a few moments to reflect on one area where you have stopped trusting yourself.
Just think of one.
We don't need a whole PowerPoint presentation, just one.
Some examples could be parenting decisions or the daily rhythms of your household, your emotions, your instincts about your kids or the people that are around them or around you.
I would like you to relearn how to notice these moments because these are going to be the steps that are going to take you back to the trust and discernment that you have been given by God.
