Sunday 11th October

The Lord has given me this word, but he gave me a picture and two words.

And I mean, I could act like I, what are the two words that are up there? Follow me.

So those are the two words that God gave me, follow me.

And the picture was actually the altar last week.

So if you weren't here, Elton did an altar call at the end of his sermon.

And he just said, you know, if you want to find your purpose in God, if you want to find your purpose in building his kingdom, come forward.

And the altar was full.

And people were emotional and people were crying out to God.

And so this picture that I got, it wasn't necessarily those people that came up or specifically this church, but it was just his people, God's people.

God's people are wrestling with purpose.

God's people are wrestling with the society that we're in, with the thoughts that come into our head, with the complications that come with following Jesus, with just living on this earth.

And so God's message was... my people, talk to my people, tell them to follow me.

And it sounds really simple, but when you look throughout scripture, you realize that following Jesus isn't as simple as it seems.

Follow me sounds like two simple words, but follow me is actually more complicated than we think.

So why don't we just pray for this message this morning.

and pray for this congregation.

So God, thank you that you have given us these words to follow God.

Lord, thank you that you've downloaded this message this morning, God, that this word is from you and it's not from me, God.

So I would just pray right now.

that you would just start to speak to us, God.

Speak to us through me.

Speak directly to the people that are in here this morning, Lord.

Start to reveal to them the things that you want for them, their purpose in following you, God.

So I just pray right now that we would just be open to your word, be open to what it is that you want us to hear this morning.

In Jesus' name we pray.
