In this episode of Business Coaching Secrets, Karl Bryan is joined by Rode Dog to answer real-world business coaching questions about partnerships, pricing strategies, conquering client fears, AI's…
Missed the guy horribly, but he and I were business partners for 17 years, literally 17 years, never had a heated argument.
Um, and as I always say much more him than I, that is an unbelievable man and I miss him wildly and he was awesome.
I think what I'd ask is what's the reason, like the first question would be, what's the reason he wants a partner, right? Like they need to bring value.
Like if you think about it, if you've got a business partner, look, you're going to have to do, let's just call it 2X the money for the same amount of profits as you do without a partner, right? So the partner's got to bring like a network of money, skills, time, right? And by the way, those skills must be complimentary.
You're not necessarily looking for somebody with all kinds of time, although that would be pretty helpful.
As an example, way back when, when I was coaching, I had a really high-end graphic designer as a client used to do like Um, cards for Hallmark and all that kind of thing.
I don't even know if that's still a thing, but anyways, um, anyways, I'm like, look, you, you gotta hire somebody, right? Cause you're, you're running that max here and you need a high level individual.
I'm like, who'd you hire? And he hired another graphic designer, which is exactly what I, you know, I had this conversation with him.
So it was a little bit like, didn't make any sense, right? And that wasn't a business partner, but no doubt you get the idea.
So a really hot salesperson will get along really well with a really hot salesperson, a highly analytical individual, like an accountant.
