The Monday Kick-On is back 🍻

All right, boys, we're back for the Monday kick-on.

We've had a couple of weeks off.

Our own friend of you came in a couple of weeks ago, right, with Braith? Yeah, mate, yeah, it was good to get on here.

That would have been a real

exciting show sitting next to Braith.

Much more scripted than this one, mate.

NRL bloody braith, mate.

So Monday kick on.

Basically, we'll be talking about, you know, just review, not doing the full review, but, you know, some important sort of issues that happened around the game over the weekend.

Monday kick-ons were always our favourite time of year, especially with a few teams that are now – Getting close, actually, for a few teams.

Yeah.

I think the Raiders have booked their flights, obviously.

But, boys, check in.

How was your weekend, mate?

Yeah, very quiet, mate.

Obviously, we had the game on – Friday, so yeah, just went out to that.

Yeah.

You know, pretty good win for the Chooks.

Yeah, thanks for

rubbing that in, mate.

What about Sunday? You've been doing junior footy with Friendly Plumbing?

Yeah, we sponsor the whole junior league.

So I wasn't out there on the weekend, but we do have the under sevens gala day this Sunday.

So yeah, friendly plumbing will be out there in full force.

And yeah, just, you know, trying to give back to the local communities and junior rugby league.

Are you a fully qualified plumber? No,

I'm not, mate, no.

My boys, yeah, there's 65 years of experience in our company.

But, yeah, I'm not.

You haven't got an hour.

I'm

looking at it as a consumer.

Yeah,

right, okay.

How we're going out and how we're presenting ourselves to our clients, that's sort of my bit.

Yeah, awesome.

And the boys are doing the plumbing thing.

Everything's going well? Yeah, mate, yeah, it's going good.

So, you know, we've got a really good team, about seven or eight guys at the moment.

It's probably the hardest thing is staff and getting, you know, getting guys that you can trust and build a company on.

It's

funny that with just business in general, the different generations of trying to find reliable workers, like even in the cleaning industry when I was there, It was just always a lot of turnover.

Yeah.

Things are just different, right?

Yeah, we've had a bit of that of recent times.

But, yeah, we're starting to get that core sort of team that we can, you know, similar to footy.

You build that core and then you drop guys in it.

But you need the culture before you go and get the guys in it.

It's

funny you say that.

It's a great analogy is that you've got to have a good culture and you've got to have good leadership even in business, right? So how do you build that culture at Friendly

Plumbing? Any culture nights?

Hey, nah, yeah, Monday kick-ons, mate.

No, no.

You know, it's much similar to a team.

It's getting them together outside of work without encroaching on their, you know, their private life.

But, yeah, getting them together, you know, working as a team, you know, doing things that you probably don't have to for the other bloke.

And then it's your company, client and, you know, plumber.

You've got to get them all right.

Trying to get that mix of getting everyone happy is probably the – Yeah, the biggest thing.

I have to manage Braith and Rennie all the time.

That's a big culture part for me.

That's a stretch.

That's the difference as well.

All your personality, you've got so many different personalities.

Not just Rennie himself, but Rennie and Braith

yourself.
