So what this is is it's a branch of dynamics where I study abstract properties of systems and how they evolve in time.
What's a system? It's just a bunch of objects and a rule with how they evolve over time.
And what I try to do is make general predictions as to what kind of behavior has to show up, uh, in the long term.
It doesn't-- One could apply it to concrete things like planets rotating around the sun.
That's a very concrete dynamical system because we have a rule for how the planets move.
But what I do is ones that all systems share these general properties, and I try to study them from a very abstract point of view.
