You know, a brief survey of the news in any given day, we all know, will reveal that this world is in an awful mess.

There's chaos, there's confusion on every side.

Wars and rumours of greater wars.

Of coming wars abounding.

There's, as I've said, confusion.

We hear of all the time on our news of crisis after crisis.

The cost of living crisis.

Health crisis.

Family crisis.

Marriages breaking down across our land.

Young people chained to addiction.

Pornography.

Drugs, alcohol, suicide running rampant in our land.

There's hopelessness in our country.

There's hopelessness in our world.

And maybe...

In your life, maybe here tonight, maybe deep down in your heart you've thought this question, is there any real hope? Is there hope in this world? Is there hope in this fallen world? And is there hope for me? Is there hope for me in my life? I was reading last week, The Guardian in the UK released an article back in 2024 that sought to answer the question of a person who was in great distress.

And their question was this, I feel despair about the state of the world.

How can I find the courage to not abandon hope? The guardian didn't have much to offer that poor inquirer.

But you know, people are in great despair.

Maybe you're in despair here tonight.

Maybe because of the state of your own life.

Maybe where sin has brought you in your life.

Maybe you're wondering here tonight, is there any hope? Well, I want to point you to one, the Lord Jesus Christ, and tell you that there's hope found in him.

There is hope in this world.
