I mean, how did your early support system shape both the athlete and mentor you became?

Um, well, being born and raised here, um, a lot of my family, uh, lived out of town.

My mom, a lot of her brothers and sisters lived in Reno and all a- all across California.

So The only side of my family I got a chance to see was really my mom's side, and they were very supportive in my football journey and just me and my upbringing in general.

Um, one of my specific uncles who passed away in nineteen ninety-seven, um, his name was Uncle Johnson.

He was one of those guys that always told me, he was like, "Oh, boy, you run on them toes fast.

So he had a, a strong influence on me, but the heaviest influence came from my father and my mother, and my brother.

He didn't have the opportunity to see me play in the NFL, but from young buck swinging a baseball bat through high school up until the moment I played my last football game, I broke my leg, uh, he was right there in my corner all the way up until the day he passed away when I was at Fresno State, um, as well as my mom.

Like, my mom worked less, so she did a lot of the financial burden that was on her, but she grinded her butt off.

She was there as much as she possibly could be, and she supported me in every single way that she possibly could.
Um, and so looking back now on the values that shaped you throughout that high school experience, um, what would you say values carried through also to your collegiate, your collegiate career and your NFL career?
