What if the life you worked so hard to build is now the very thing keeping you out of alignment with your purpose? Sometimes growth does not look like adding more. Sometimes it looks like leaving…

For those of you who know me and you follow me, um, you may know that I am in a mix of worlds, right? I am very involved in the world of music and very involved in the world of pro wrestling, and sometimes people think those worlds are juxtapos- uh, juxtaposed.

You'll find that there is an interesting cross-section of people who love music, who love pro wrestling.

And one of the things that I have been discovering is sometimes people are trying to make you choose what it is that you're supposed to do.

Some people, uh, have one primary gift or talent, and with that one primary gift or talent, that's how they make money, that's what they're known for, et cetera, et cetera.

You're the, uh, hyphenate, the multi-hyphenate, the one that can do this, that, and the other, and probably six other things that nobody even knows about.

Some days I feel a little weird talking about what I do or all of the things that I am capable of doing because it is all over the place at times, or so it feels.

And where that can be difficult is when you are looking for a particular position or a particular space that you're trying to occupy, sometimes people will pigeonhole you for the last thing you have done.

So what's been happening in kind of the off-season as we've moved back into the season of the podcast is my, my voice and my presence has heightened a bit on the music community side.

Um, I took a minute and, uh, I had focused more on the wrestling side of things, though I had never left the music side.

But people heard my voice more in the wrestling space, and so now they're hearing my voice a bit more prominent in the music space in addition to the wrestling space.

And some people, you know, will say, "Well, hey, welcome back to the industry." As if I had left.

Um, what I'm realizing is there are seasons of our lives that require us to do more of one thing than another.

What you may find is that you are needed to show up in a certain place in a certain season more than another.

So, you know, if my voice is needed more in the music community right now, it'll be amplified.

And I think we have to get to the space where we move away from and reject the traditional notion that says I can only do one thing at a time.
