In today's episode Helena shares the stories of her two pregnancies and births, which unfolded in surprisingly similar ways. She had planned to welcome her babies at home, but as both labours began…
Serena LouthHosttalking through it and and bits that were good bits that weren't quite what you hoped I can't recommend that enough and it has to be someone that was actually there was fantastic and so helpful and yeah the reflexology afterwards for the baby napping on me was wonderful really really great and then in our last session I remember we had some reflexology and they said okay what do you want to do and said I really want to do some gardening so
while I frantically used the time to kind of go around and do some bits and just talk about things and
think women need more of that in around in their birth so yeah there's all sorts of ways like having you as a doula was was wonderful and even if you weren't you know there at a home birth technically or yeah there for that long it was sort of general support and mentally as well as physically I think mentally was the best support really too yeah you did you did make a huge difference

saying what you wanted and like you were you were up against it a bit you weren't where you wanted to be you suddenly were being like pressured into all this ctg and examinations which you had said you really didn't want and you still managed to do it even when they started being like oh we want to get involved and speed things up you were incredible watching you give birth standing up it's like one of the most impressive things i've ever seen a human do It was so cool.

And I love, like, it's also so nice getting to know Tom and Laurie and during the birth, the little smiles that Laurie, that Tom would give me across the room, the little like knowing looks.
That's really, really nice, yeah, I'm so, yeah, I really couldn't be more honoured to, from my side, to be your first client,
it's funny, it kind of felt like you put your trust in me too, obviously, you would have been there, like, no matter what type of birth that I had, no matter what, where we'd end up going, how long it took, anything
but yeah, I'm so happy that, yeah, you got to be there, and
then you found it good good good watching too I'm sure it was very intense for everyone at
points
it was intense and powerful definitely that giving birth standing up was just ridiculous I felt like some kind of lion roaring her out but
