So last week, the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, revealed that an open AI agent hacked into the Australian Medicaid data portal and that this happened... a little while ago in June.
Anthony Albanese was in New York leading Australia's delegation at the UN General Assembly.
And he was there launching what was basically a campaign for a temporary seat for Australia on the United Nations Security Council.
And speaking from New York at the General Assembly at sort of the sidelines of this event, he told reporters what had happened, which was that an open AI agent had gained unauthorized access to the Medicare Statistics Reporting Portal.
So what is the portal? Like, what did the AI agent actually get? Okay, so this is a portal that is run by Services Australia.
What it does is it provides data on our healthcare programs, things like the PBS, vaccines, organ donations, like there's a lot of annual reporting here.
