What if your gallbladder was never the real problem? In this episode of *Beyond Wellness Culture*, Dr. Brook Sheehan sits down with Jami McQuivey, host of *Gallbladder Gone? Now What?*, to talk about…
I mean, yes, you can live with your gallbladder removed, but oh, maybe you don't need your appendix or your tonsils or these other organs that get removed without looking at the root cause, right? And so with specifically about the gallbladder, what are some of the mistakes or what are the misunderstandings that you see people experience when they have had that or if they're looking into that? Is there something that they could do to help prevent these kind of things? I know that's like a really weighted question with a lot of different angles, but I would just love you to answer hack that a little bit?
One of the things that is so paramount here is that women understand, one, we can live without the gallbladder, but we have to make adjustments.
So there's something, I've heard different numbers, 1.2 or 1.8 million gallbladder removals a year in the United States alone.
And just like me, I was told once I got it removed, my life would be so much better.
But what I did do is it took for a little bit my pain sensor, which was the gallbladder, saying there is something wrong here.
for a while and then it got worse again, right? So one of the things women need to understand is not a gallbladder problem, it's a digestion problem.
So then what happens, we get the gallbladder taken out, And we have bile and the liver creates a bile and it usually drips it into the gallbladder and the gallbladder concentrates it.
But that's where a lot of people stop, especially for women that is dangerous because bile also plays a huge role in estrogen regulation.
And we wonder, what's wrong with me? And we go and we're told, your labs are normal.
