Scotland’s leading international charities are working together to support some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Join to hear highlights from the Scottish Government’s Humanitarian…
Just to say a little bit about the Humanitarian Emergency Fund, and I'm sort of sorry, Nicola ran off, but actually this was set up in 2017 when she was First Minister.
One million pounds a year, in the context of everything you've heard, that's a small amount of money, but it's good that it's there.
Half of it goes to respond to appeals that are run by the Disasters Emergency Committee.
The interesting thing about their appeals is that they are launched when the media get involved.
So some of the discussions we had just now about that balance between media and not is interesting.

We propose to the Scottish government where we think their limited funding would have the best impact.
And we're going to tell a couple of stories today about where some of that money's been spent.
Today, to help explain that, Val Brown from Christian Aid and Nadim Bakir from Islamic Relief.
And we're going to talk a little bit about, as I said, where the money's been spent.
Whilst I say the allocation is a million, in reality, the Scottish government ends up spending a bit more on that every year.
So last year, there was two and a half million pounds spent on humanitarian relief.
