God called Abraham to leave everything he had ever known and follow Him into a land he had never seen. He was given no map, no destination, and no explanation—only a command to go and a promise that…

Okay, today I want to talk about Abraham's call to leave everything that he had ever known and follow God into a land that he had not yet seen, in fact, didn't even know where he was going.

We're going to talk about the surrender, the faith, and the intentionality required to leave the old life behind and how God delights in filling those who are empty, yielded, and willing to keep moving forward by faith.

Now, the Lord said to Abram, go from your country and from your relatives and from your father's house to the land which I will show you.

Leave the family that you were born into, which is the lineage of Adam, who passed on to you a nature and a mind that has fallen and doesn't know God as he is.

Turn away from all you've ever known and surrender to a life that is foreign to you.

Lay your life down at the cross and let God determine what things are resurrected and given back to you and what things are buried in the ground forever.

Now, I can imagine Sarah telling Abraham when they were leaving all that they had ever known.

But Abraham, it sure would be nice if we had directions of where God was leading us before we pulled out of the driveway.

And this is why the journey of Abraham is the journey of anyone who responds to the call of the gospel.

Paul writes in Philippians 1 verse 20, Christ will be magnified in my body, listen to this, whether by life or by death.
