While we might not be asked to build an ark that will preserve the population from dying out, we are asked in Matthew 28, 19, ESV, to go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Jesus has commanded us.

When you look at this description of a genuine, mature disciple of Christ, read it again, a genuine, mature disciple of Christ, the only kind that Matthew 28, 18 to 20 calls us to make is not merely a convert, but is someone who is first born of the Spirit and then trained and equipped to walk daily with Christ to continue in his Spirit and do Christ's work.

Unless you are a student of the word of God, you are going to be blinded by the prince of the power of the air, which, by the way, is subservient to my father, who is in control, who is sovereign of all things at all times in all places.

Matthew 28, verse 18.

But if you are not a student of the word of God, you are not going to understand this.
B

And I want to say this in contrast to that as well, that a God who is all love, who he is, all grace to those that it belongs, all mercy to those that it belongs, but they don't believe that God is all sovereign.

G

And probably most importantly, not discipled afterward.
