Before you sell it, shut it down, or hire someone to run it so you can escape it — run this diagnostic. In part two of this series on work satisfaction, Shay walks through the final two of her…
Number one is, or number three if you're counting, we're going to be most deeply satisfied in our work when we are walking in the specific good works that he planned for us for our current situation.
It's that right there, the current season part, and we're going to talk about that.
And the number four is we're going to be the most deeply satisfied in our work when we remain really closely connected to the people that we serve, all right? So let me tell you up front, these two that we're going to talk about today are the ones that I see missing the most in highly successful entrepreneurs.
I would say that the more successful you become, the more these last two go missing.
Foundation three was that we're going to be most deeply satisfied when we're walking in the good works that God has prepared for you in this season.
My friend Natalia felt a really strong pull into entrepreneurship in her late 20s.
God was giving her the vision for a different kind of marketing company than what she had seen out there.
And he was giving her the ambition to bootstrap and build something from scratch.
And he started to open doors to make... that scary leap possible, as he often does when she was let go from her very stable corporate marketing job.
And really, in that midst of that season, God was just making it so obvious that this was her opportunity.
Anybody that's made that switch from corporate to entrepreneurship feels the tension of that moment But God was making it so clear that this was the opportunity.
And so she decided to trust him and to begin to build something that would finally solve the problems that she was seeing in the world of marketing.
And with her effort, coupled with a few crucial industry connections that God brought her way, she was able to hit $60,000 in her first year in business.
doubled it to 120,000 early in the second year of business and was doing over a half a million by her third year as a solopreneur, okay? Half a million by her third year as a solopreneur, at which point she started to hire a small team.
And even though it was challenging, right? As we know, growth and growing a team is, God was just so very clearly, clearing and creating a path for her and giving her success.
