If you've ever wondered why success hasn't brought the freedom you expected, this episode will show you what's actually being cost — and why. Shay kicks off a two-part series by naming the real…
And the place I want to start is let's start where we love, right? Entrepreneurship has lots of benefits.
And I'm going to list some of these for you because I want you to ask yourself whether or not you're actually getting to enjoy those benefits.
Because I think we all get into entrepreneurship because of its very many potential benefits.
But it is mind-blowing to me how few of those benefits we actually end up enjoying.
So So just listen to this and I want you to just kind of assess for yourself what of these benefits are you currently enjoying and which aren't you enjoying.
One benefit of entrepreneurship that I love is that there's no ceiling on your finances.
I know when Graham and I just started, we were just trying to make $30,000 a year.
But when he started as an entrepreneur after we were married, I mean, the dream was just being able to afford groceries and pay our bills.
We had a roughly $2,000 a month budget that we were living off of as a married couple, which is crazy to think that that's even possible.
But when we were just starting out, we were just trying to make $30K, right? Like just pay the bills.
That just doesn't happen in traditional business, right? Traditional employment opportunities.
It gives you incredible financial leverage, right? We've been able to put incredible down payments on houses.
We've had the ability to invest and grow wealth in ways that we never thought possible coming from typical blue collar families.
So Just incredible the financial leverage that entrepreneurship can give you, the ability to take your wealth and then create more wealth from it.
I think the obvious that we talk about a lot is control of your hours on any given day or week.
Those of you that have been following me for a long time know that I've always elected to only work about two days a week, 16 hours a week.
And so I've built all the businesses that I've owned, I've built in such a way that I could do that because that's just what I wanna do.
