Tower of Dawn Summary

So we're starting off with Kale and Nezrin making their way in to see the Kagan.

They spend three weeks sailing there.

And Nezrin told him everything she knew and how there are six potential heirs.

So she's kind of giving Kale the rundown of what she knows about the southern continent.

We find out the heir is chosen by the Kagan.

I'm pretty sure it's Kagan and not Kagan.

We're going to go with Kagan.

I guess.

The birth order or gender doesn't matter when choosing the heir.

Kael has two tasks while he's there.

The first is to convince them to lend their armies to the war against Erewhon.

The second is to find a healer who can find a way for him to walk again so he can ride into battle, obviously.

They notice white cloths are hung in the windows, which is a sign of mourning, but they don't know who's mourning what.

Then they get into the throne room and see that there are only five heirs present when they thought there were six.

So the Khagan welcomes Nezrin to her true home.

Nezrin is able to differentiate the five heirs present based on the little that she knows about them.

So from oldest to youngest, we have Argun, Sartak, Hasar, Kashin, and Duva.

They bought four trunks of jewels with them.

This was from Aelin.

So four trunks of jewels with them with different types of jewelry.

All these jewels and brooches and all this stuff as a gift to the Kagan, which he says he doesn't want.

He's like, you can take that somewhere else.

He knows that they came from Aelin, but more specifically from Selene's work as an assassin.

And he's not fucking with it.

So he knows they came to convince him to fight in their war.
