Segment one, the series and the pitching probables.
Derek, the Guardians have announced Parker Messick as their game one starter, a rookie left-hander.

[static sound] Confident is a strong word.
But prepared? Yes.
Messick is a lefty, which immediately helps us because of the platoon splits we've seen all year.
The White Sox lineup has always been tough on left-handed pitching, especially with Munetaka Murakami holding his own in those matchups.

The bullpen is fragile.
With the injuries we're dealing with, can Fedde really give us six solid innings?
He has to.

Derek Burrows is out on the 60-day IL.
Stephen Okert is on the 15-day.
