I wish the story of Genesis finished at the end of chapter 2. But it doesn’t. It ultimately sets the foundations for Jesus saving work on the cross. So that’s good. But if only Adam and Eve didn’t…
So yes, if you haven't been here for the last couple of weeks or this is your first time, great big welcome or first time tuning in.
So we have been going through Genesis.
We've got through chapter one and chapter two last week with Ian.
Now we're into chapter three and this,
I should be able to
zoom it in.
Actually, can you just do the next slide, thank you.
For some reason, I think it's run out of batteries.
Yes.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to ask you to do that, sorry.
Yeah, so we're up to chapter three, which you've read out, which is quite an amazing story.
It's a story that's, for some people, the easiest way to understand this is to go, is it real or not? And that might be a bit of a blockage for you and going, I can't imagine it being real.
So maybe it's a metaphor or a parable, and that's a helpful way for you to enter into this story.
I think it says a lot of theological truth.
So if you want to explore more, you've got heaps of questions with this, then I would suggest you be part of a house group, a small group, where you can start to look at some of those things.
Like, you know, Eve's there.
Well, Eve isn't named.
It's just a woman.
And let's imagine this is the tree.
And suddenly there's a snake that starts talking to her.
And she doesn't go, oh, there's a snake that started talking to me.
She just goes, oh, yes, hello, of course.
Yes, we have conversations all the time.
