When they dash there, they arrive and find two victims in a nearby alleyway.

Those two victims, a 15-year-old Holly Newton and a schoolboy whose name hasn't been publicly released because in the UK, We have anonymity laws because people don't always want to be associated with something dreadful happening to them when they were a child as an adult.

So he's referred to in this case as CD.

Imagine turning up.

It's so out of the blue, this kind of a call.

I appreciate that when you look in the newspapers day in, day out, you will always find alarming cases.

But for police officers, it isn't a contextually normal experience to turn up somewhere and to find two children basically near death.

That's what happens.

It is outlandish that these things happen.

They do, but it's really challenging for those emergency responders.

They do what we would imagine they were going to do.

They take them to hospital.

But unfortunately, poor Holly dies.

She succumbs to her injuries.

C.D. does manage to survive, but let's be honest, he survives with very serious injuries too.

And it's not just the injuries themselves.

Of course, it is the trauma that is gonna last a lifetime.

To be physically wounded in a way that could have taken your life is a horrendous thing to experience and endure.

To realize that in spite of trying your best to protect somebody that you cared for, you couldn't, and that person died with you in that situation.

is something that is going to be difficult to bear forever.

They know who this individual is that is responsible for this horrendous slaying of this young girl.
