Pool Upgrades Worth the Money: Variable-Speed Pumps, Automation, LED Lights & Decking | Backyard Family Fun Podcast

Let's kick it off with the pump conversation because that's a big one.

It is.

So building pools, as long as we've been building pools, it's been a long time.

So that being said, we have got a lot of pools in the ground.

And, you know, you start talking about 50 years in the business.

You know, believe it or not, there are still pools today that we built that are in the ground and still functioning and working.

So it's maybe gone through several ownerships, different homeowners, that type of thing.

It may be generational for families.

But eventually, the pool's going to need a little bit of a lift, you know? It's like...

All of us around, you know, time and mileage, you know, just wears on us sometimes.

So it doesn't hurt to get a little something done to make you feel better and look better.

So that's kind of what we really kind of do.

When we purchased the business, my other two siblings purchased it from our dad back in 99.

We really focused on that.

It was, you know, we had thousands, I think 3,000 plus pools in the ground at the time.

And a lot of those pools are still functioning.

So we really focused on renovation.

We focused on service aftermarket product and pools that are existing now.

They need some help.

So, you know, like decking, giving the concrete decking a look at.

Of course, now with the pumps, you can upgrade the equipment and give it that variable speed pump.

And the automation part of it, we timer systems, you know.

Pool should be not a lot of work.

We believe in to the point where it don't have to be fully automation, but to the point where you can schedule it where you don't have to be out there.

Right.
