TUSD Superintendent Gabriel Trujillo presented his recommendation to close the A-rated school and merge it with Marshall Elementary about a mile down the road.
But many parents at the tight-knit community said they refused to send their children to Marshall because it's B-rated and has a history of abuse.
The room of about 50 applauded Dunham's staff and said they felt their family was being ripped apart.
Because it's not easy.
