Topping the headlines today, the Pima County Board of Supervisors appointed Carmine DeBonis as the county administrator on Tuesday night.
He has served the county since 1991 and took his current position as deputy county administrator about 10 years ago.
Board Chair Jennifer Allen said the appointment was the culmination of a year-long search effort.
So today's naming of Mr. DeBonis as our county administrator is a validation of that search.
Mr. DeBonis received unanimous support from the Board of Supervisors.
He's our strongest candidate, and I'm proud to be able to name him as our next county administrator.
DeBonis will step into his new role the day after Jan Lesher, the current county administrator, retires on January 7th.
