“Russian Blood and Treasure: The Ballooning Costs of Putin’s War”: Audio Brief with Seth Jones and Riley McCabe

[gentle music] The Russian military has suffered roughly one point four million battlefield casualties between February 2022 and June 2026, and as many as four hundred and fifty thousand deaths during that same timeline.

Just to put that into perspective, these rates are historically astounding.

Russian fatalities in Ukraine are more than four times greater than all U.S. fatalities in all U.S. wars combined since World War II.
