She Didn't Recognise Herself in a Photo: 20kg Lost at 40 and a Complete Life Transformation

She was a semi-professional swimmer in her teens. Always the fit one. Always the lean one. The one who could eat whatever she wanted and never pay the price. Then COVID hit. She lost her hospitality job. Moved to a desk. The steps disappeared, the takeaways crept in, and over three years she gained 20 kilos without even realising. Until she saw a photo of herself at a work event and did not recognise the person looking back. That was the moment everything changed. Andi joined us in January at 40 years old. Eight months later she has lost nearly 20 kilos, hip thrusts 111kg, leg presses 200kg, and wakes up every single morning feeling like a completely different person. But this episode is not about the numbers. It is about the cloud she carried over her head every morning getting dressed and hating what she saw. It is about the family history of diabetes and a grandfather who died at 50 that made her realise this was about more than just looks. It is about walking into a gym terrified and walking out feeling unstoppable. It is about the confidence, the mood, the relationships and the version of herself she thought she had lost forever. We cover: - How she gained 20kg over three years without noticing until it was too late. - Why group fitness classes were getting her absolutely nowhere. How she went from dreading the gym to leg pressing 200kg and loving every second. - How she manages her sweet tooth without giving up the foods she loves. - What the transformation did to her confidence, her mood and every other area of her life. - And the one piece of advice she would give anyone sitting on the fence right now. If you have ever been in great shape and watched it slowly slip away, or if you think 40 is too late to make a real change, this episode is going to change your mind. 📲 Apply for coaching → https://forms.gle/RBKcgoazqTzaLkCF8 📲 Follow me on Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/simonjohnsonfitness/
