Between me and coach James we have been coaching for over 30 years. These are the questions we get asked the most. In this episode we answer all of them. Honestly. Including the ones where our…
Simon JohnsonHostJamesGuestOh yeah, 100% I did.
I used to be what I called a weekend warrior, as in [chuckles] push through the week, Monday to Friday, midday maybe, and then like, it's like you get to the weekend and it's just like open the, open the can of worms and overeating, overdrinking.
Definitely was probably still all or nothing mindset when I was in my party days still, early on in my career a little bit, part-time partying.
And it was probably from not knowing about being more consistent, because I'd have this weekend where I'd be like eating everything, drinking, whatever, then feeling tired on the Monday, and then you'd go too aggressive to try and undo the weekend.
So it's one of them, if you're looking, if you've got big goals that you wanna achieve, you do need to change habits.
You don't need to fully be unsocial, but there's gotta be some give.
Like, if you're expecting to go out, like you can see...
It's hard, but you could see a result with your, you got big social life.
But I would say you need to pull back a little bit.
Still enjoy some weekends, pull back on others.
'Cause these days you can be...
There's a lot of options to be social without having to go out and drink, eat and drink loads anyway.
And then if you're not feeling tired at the end of the weekend, you've got more chance of just being on your goals, whatever the plan is, the calorie goals are, the training is, and not trying to undo the weekend.
So when you try and undo the weekend, it's just a vicious circle because you're gonna be tired, you're gonna go too aggressive, your hunger is gonna spike at the end of the week 'cause your calories have been too low, trying to undo the weekend again, and then it's, it's just happening.
So it's like more, right, think how you can be consistent.
Think your calorie target.
You might have high, slightly high calories, calories at the weekend, but don't just try and like...
Don't try not to have these habits of where you're just like, "Right, it's the weekend.
I'm gonna eat loads, drink loads because it's the weekend." How about plan some other stuff?
I don't know, plan in sports or going to see friends for coffee instead of going out or...
It's just lifestyle, lifestyle changes.
Becoming more self-aware is the bigger, bigger picture of it.
