It's time to talk about an episode filled with tension (and surprisingly also fish). We're talking about "Quick Hardening Caulk"! Jenn (@notajenny)…
So this episode is basically, again, we're on a trajectory here with many plots, and the two main ones in this one is that CeCe obviously got engaged in T infinity, and so we pick up with Schmidt not doing super well with that.
And Winston is there, thankfully, to help him navigate his grief, because Schmidt's grief expresses itself very interestingly in this episode, where he is obsessed with a fish.
And he gets to a good place at the end of the episode, and there's a scene that I wanna talk about, 'cause I really love Winston in this episode as well.
Um, also picking up where we have left off, uh, if you'll recall, Jess didn't end up kissing anyone in the last episode in T infinity, so she's still thinking about Nick.
And this week's episode is all about her attraction to Nick, because Nick starts putting in effort, and he starts putting in effort because he has a new boss that he is sleeping with.
Her name is Shane.
We will never hear about her again.
She does not exist after this episode for purposes of this universe.
[laughs]
Yeah.
She is a plot device, which is a thing that I usually, and do still hate about shows making just women plot devices instead of characters.
Um, but here we are.
This is her purpose for- for this.
But so basically, Nick, uh, has to hide that he is sleeping with Shane from Jess, and Jess finds out, and then the end of this episode happens.
[laughs] So we'll talk about that.
But basically, that is the plot of this episode.
My quotes, as I had said, are all from Jess, so here we are.
Zoe does great comedic work in this episode, all around physical comedy line delivery, and at the beginning of this episode, she says, "You once put a sign out that said, 'Take a drink, leave a drink.'" Which very Nick Miller, and I love that that is a thing that you believe Nick would do.
Um, and then Jess, in reference to seeing the aquarium that is now in their apartment, says, "An aquarium? When did you become a Bond villain that couldn't afford not to live with roommates?" And I love that line.
And then this one, which I thought for sure you were gonna have, was, "You are a beautiful-
I do have it
