Welcome back to Amy Lou Out Loud.
I'm Amy and this episode is gonna be a little bit different because tomorrow marks one year since Charlie Kirk was murdered.
I've known for a while that I wanted to record something for this day, but I haven't known exactly what I wanted to say.
And I think that's because I'm still not sure that I have the words to explain what Charlie Kirk meant to me.
I never met him.
He never knew my name.
I never shook his hand.
I never got to sit across from him and have a conversation.
But not a single day has gone by in the last year that I haven't thought about Charlie Kirk.
Not one day.
I remember that I was sitting at my desk when I heard the news that Charlie had been shot.
And I remember sobbing when I heard that he had passed.
And just that my heart felt like it was choked up for his wife and his children and his parents and his family and all those who knew him and loved him.
I remember thinking even then, why does this hurt so much? But I think I understand it a little bit better now because sometimes someone can have an impact on your life without ever being part of your life.
You listen to them, you learn from them, they make you think, they challenge you, they say something that you carry with you without even realizing that you're carrying it.
