Sunday 2nd August 2026: Vision Update

[laughs] So I thought this would be a good opportunity as well, because I know that some of you sitting here, um, this morning have joined our church family in the last few months, so it'd be really helpful to recap where we're at.

Uh, some of you will know this, some of you won't, but helpful to bring you up to speed.

So last year, we had a whole year as elders, which we called a season of listening.

We felt really led and called by God, um, to, uh, listen to Him and to seek Him for our next steps as a church.

At this point, I thought it might be helpful to actually put pictures of the elders up.

So, um, I can't see them there.

There's our mugshots.

It's not often we do this, is it? But because we've got newer people amongst us, just to remind you how beautiful we are.

So, um, we have, um, we have Tim, Tim Murray.

We have Tim Barton, who's on sabbatical.

We have Adrian.

We have, um, Stace, and we also have Steve Cook as well.

And actually, I don't want to leave the directors out.

Let's put the directors up as well.

There we go, yeah.

So, uh, we have John, who leads our director team.

We've got Ariella, we've got Davinia, Eric, Lee, and Rob.

And these are the people that lead our church family.

So last year then, we had this season of listening, and what we did was review where we're at as a church, look at all the things that we're doing, and then we spoke to lots of people around the UK, churches up and down the UK, church leaders, and we sought the Lord, prayed, and listened.

It was a massive exercise and in some ways, a positioning of ourselves before God.

And, um, then in the autumn of last year, we had an elders' retreat, uh, time away, and what we did, uh, was we came up with some goals.

So I want to remind you of that and remind you of our vision.

So our overall vision is that we are a community of people who follow Jesus, seeking to love Him and love our neighbors.
